About Janek
Janek is a pacey, direct winger who joined Dragoons FC after honing his skills in one of Poland’s top academies, bringing explosive speed and an adventurous spirit to the Expats.
Janek began his football journey with Pogoń Skotniki (now Pogoń Kraków), one of Poland’s largest youth academies. Known for his pace and eagerness to take on defenders, he thrived on the wing. However, four severe injuries, including three ankle sprains and a fracture, hampered his promising early career.
Upon finishing junior football, Janek moved to Prądniczna alongside his friend Marcin. A lack of professionalism at the club drained his enthusiasm, prompting him to step away from the game after just half a season.
Years later, Marcin introduced Janek to the Dragoons. Intrigued by the prospect of joining an international squad of players from around the world, Janek immediately recognized a club that aligned with his love for football and global culture.
He made an instant impact upon joining the first team. Janek marked his club debut by providing an assist in a dominant 6-0 victory over Zieleńczanka II, before coming off the bench in his second match to score his first Dragoons goal against Sportowiec Modlniczka in a 2-1 defeat in the 24/25 season.
Off the pitch, Janek is a true adventurer and avid traveler who prefers hitchhiking across Europe with his skateboard over traditional travel. Whether navigating the open road or connecting with people from diverse cultures, he approaches life with the same fearlessness he shows on the pitch.
Fun Fact
Janek once hitchhiked all the way from Poland to Turkey. On another wild trip through Romania, he sprained his ankle while skateboarding, lost his wallet, and had to limp into the Polish embassy with his leg in a cast to secure a temporary passport.
