The Man-Mountain
Once described as the Great Wall of Turkey, Emre played amateur football at regional level for Yalovaspor Club for most of his career. He enjoyed a successful period with the club at youth level in the 2nd Division and also represented Uludağ University during his studies.
Emre attended the Dragoons affiliate Thursday football training sessions to keep up his fitness. After playing in the summer trial match in 2021, Emre stood out with his performance in midfield.
Comfortable either at the apex of midfield or further forward, Emre is extremely strong in possession of the ball. He seems to enjoy any physical battle and is more than adept at holding his own. Emre’s calmness on the ball and ability to spot a pass makes him a valuable squad member.
The giant midfielder grabbed his first goal for the Dragoons in the 5-3 defeat away to Borek in the Dragoons’ first season in Klasa A in the 2022/23 season. With the side 4-0 down at half time, the midfield man mountain got his side a second goal back, smashing a low left foot drive past the goalkeeper.

Whilst Emre had played football before the Dragoons, it is not the sport he anticipated he’d be playing later in life when he was younger. For 20+ years, Emre played basketball and finds it amusing that he now finds himself in Poland and playing football at an amateur level.
