About Francesco
A proud Roman, full-back Francesco hails from Italy and started his football career at age 7. Being a speed merchant, he started out as a full-back but later played defensive midfielder. Leuci cited his speed and capability of winning the ball likely for the position change.
At 12, Francesco switched to athletics, but decided to change career path at 19 where he could return to play football and played at 8-a-side mainly.
He first came across the Dragoons as an opposition player in the Kraków Sunday League. After the league stopped following COVID, Francesco came to train with the Dragoons and signed shortly afterwards.
Francesco made a good impact on his second Dragoons match away to WKS Wawel towards the end of the 2020/21 season. A baking hot day, Leuci showed great energy at right back and claimed as assist for Andrea Latino’s goal. The Italian said being back on the field gave him kind of feeling that only football can give you!
The full back started to become a key member of the team in the 2023/24 season, playing at left back and being a consistent performer in the team. Tough in the tackle and good at getting forward, he occasionally played on the wing and his ability to cover both flanks has been valuable to Hugo Cruz. Fra scored his first goal for the club, reacting quickest in the box to put a rebound into the net to give to score the Dragoons third goal against Juvenia Prandocin.

In his youth, Francesco was a talented athlete. Fra competed as 400 metre track runner and took part in the Italian Championship where he reached 10th place and then won a silver medal in the 4×400 relay race. Another fact, Fra got married on the 16th (September) because 16 is his favourite number after Daniele De Rossi who currently coaches AS Roma.
