About Alessandro
The Dragoons’ defensive ranks have been bolstered by the arrival of Alessandro, a traditional Italian defender who brings a wealth of experience from the lower tiers of the Italian pyramid. Hailing from the Piedmont region, Alessandro’s footballing journey is rooted in the gritty, tactical world of Seconda and Terza Categoria.
After starting his development at ASD Serravallese, Alessandro spent the bulk of his competitive years representing USI Grignasco and USD Juvenzo in Novara. Despite a brief two-year hiatus as a teenager, he has spent over 15 years on the pitch, honing the defensive instincts that define his game.
Since moving to Poland in 2021, Alessandro has been away from the competitive scene, but the itch to return to 11-a-side football has brought him to the Expats.
Alessandro describes himself as a calm personality off the pitch, but a different beast entirely once he crosses the white line. He embodies the classic Italian defensive philosophy of “cattiveria agonistica”, a term that translates to competitive aggression or sporting malice.
Expect to see tight marking, uncompromising tackles, and a high level of tactical discipline at the heart of the Dragoons’ backline. He is a defender who relishes the physical battle and prides himself on making life as uncomfortable as possible for opposition strikers.
