The Missile Launcher
A Polish national, Michał played at amateur level, representing his local team Włókniarz Moszczenica in Łódź. Upon moving to Kraków, Michał continued his football journey with Sokół Kocmyrzów and Kraków Zieleniczanka Zielonki.
After a period travelling the US and New Zealand, Michał returned to Poland and looked to resume his playing career. Already good friends with a few Dragoons players, it was only natural for Nowak to join the club and excelled at full-back.
Nowak joined the side at the start of the 2020/21 season making his debut against WKS Wawel, capping off his appearance with a goal. He timed his run excellently to break the offside trap and delicately touched Flavio Nkola’s through pass into the net.
Michał possesses an extremely dangerous long-throw that has often caused many a problem for opponents. Nowak’s game does not only consist of the “Michał missile” however. A wily competitor, he is strong in the tackle and shows plenty of power when running down whichever flank he is utilised on or in attack.
#FunFact
Some time ago, Michał was playing for another team in Krakow with fellow Dragoon Kuba Drobny. Michał promised he will drive the both of them to the game but as everyone who knows Michał… he screwed up and went for a party, so a few minutes before meeting with Kuba, he had to ask him to drive. Due to Michał’s bad navigation skills and the changing car situation both of them were late for the team meeting. So as a punishment the Coach decided to bench Kuba (he was supposed to be in the first XI for the first time) but he forgot about Michał so he started the game whilst probably still a little bit (a lot) drunk. The left back said he will never forget Kuba’s face and that of is fellow teammates also. In the end, Kuba always tells that story whenever the two of them go somewhere for a game.
