Dragoons Leave It Late!
The Dragoons had to dig deep on Sunday, battling until the final minutes to earn a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Iskra Radwanowice. Despite controlling possession, the visitors struggled to create clear chances and were punished by defensive lapses.

First Half
The match began at a measured pace, with both sides settling into their rhythm. An early free-kick tested Marcin Obyrtacz, but the Dragoons keeper was equal to the effort.
Dragoons Take the Lead
The breakthrough arrived in the 16th minute. After a spell of attacking pressure, Rohit Chandran showed skill by the corner flag before laying the ball back to Rob Smits. The Dutchmeester whipped in a first-time cross with the outside of his boot, causing problems in the Iskra box. Although the initial danger was cleared, the ball rolled out to Enrico Forabosco on the edge of the area. The midfield magician took his time, picking his spot before curling a precise 25-metre shot beyond the goalkeeper to register his fourth goal of the season.

Crossbar Denies the Dragoons
Ten minutes later, Forabosco nearly turned provider. His free-kick found Josh Dawson, whose powerful header seemed destined for the net. However, the Iskra goalkeeper produced a fine save, tipping the ball onto the crossbar.
Despite a promising start, the Dragoons became careless in possession, frequently surrendering the ball in midfield. Quick passing was attempted, but poor decision-making and misplaced final balls disrupted any momentum.
Iskra Convert From the Spot
With little attacking threat up to that point, Iskra found a way back into the game in the 35th minute. A loose pass in midfield gifted possession to the hosts, who surged forward. Under pressure, Simon Calabrese mistimed a challenge inside the box, conceding a penalty. The hosts made no mistake from the spot, levelling the score at 1-1.
Dragoons Fall Behind
As half-time approached, Iskra struck again. The visitors failed to win the ball in midfield, allowing the hosts to break forward. A routine cross into the box was not dealt with, and a low shot squirmed past Obyrtacz before being tapped in from close range.
Despite dominating possession, the Dragoons went into the break trailing. Their build-up play had lacked urgency, and the Iskra defence had rarely been stretched.
Second Half
Looking to regain control, the Dragoons started the second half with intent. However, Iskra carried more attacking threat, forcing Obyrtacz into a couple of comfortable saves.
A contrast in playing styles became evident. The hosts launched long balls for their forwards to chase, while the Dragoons relied on measured, short passing. Neither approach led to significant chances, however.
Substitutions and a Missed Opportunity
In the 56th minute, Smits and Martin Voženílek were replaced by Fernando Gámez and Corneille Malonga.
The Dragoons then spurned a golden opportunity to equalise on the hour mark. Jan Kołodziejski delivered a dangerous cross into the box, but the ball bounced awkwardly in front of Chandran, denying him a simple tap-in.
Further changes followed, with Kołodziejski, Bilovol, and Urzędowski making way for Vałdzis Fuhaš, Michael Syska-Lamb, and Gracjan Bałuch. Hugo Cruz adjusted to a back three in search of an equaliser.
Late Drama – Dragoons Snatch a Point
Just as time was running out, the Dragoons found a lifeline. In the 88th minute, Malonga’s cross caused panic in the Iskra defence. A failed clearance fell kindly to Gámez, who reacted quickest to guide the ball into the net, salvaging a point for the visitors.
