About Bernabé
Raised in Vejer de la Frontera (Cádiz), Bernabé grew up surrounded by football and inspiring mentors whilst playing for his local football school and for C.D. Vejer Balompié. From Manuel Rivera Pérez, he learned to read the game with intelligence, remembering football is not played only with feet, but also with the head; from his late youth coach Bastida, the value of training, care for the body, and the importance of dreaming; from Domingo Reyes Malia, a coach connected to FC Barcelona’s youth system, he discovered how teamwork and communication can become an art. And from his grandfather José García Pérez, he learned to smile whenever he played.
His journey has taken him through England and Germany, including a spell in the TSG 1899 Hoffenheim youth system at 17, before returning to Spain to study Hispanic Philology at the University of Seville.
Now in Krakow, Bernabé says he has found a true team with the Dragoons, one he hopes never to leave, and one he believes has the strength to rise to the third tier of Polish football as the first foreign-founded, multinational club to do so.
