Player of the Season Awards
After a long hard season, the Dragoons took to the lake at Kryspinów for the annual Player of the Season awards.
With the drinks flowing and barbecue burning (quite literally), the players let their hair down before the hard work starts again.
As usual, the coaches nominated their picks for the overall player of the season and most improved player of the season. Meanwhile, the players voted for the players’ player of the season ahead of the event.
We are proud to announce the results of our awards ceremony right here.
Emre Çolakoğlu 🇹🇷
Most Improved Player
Congratulations go to the Turkish Man Mountain, Emre Çolakoğlu who has been awarded the Most Improved Player.
Emre joined the club in the 2020/21 season and had to be patient for game time. Like a true professional, he never complained once and kept working hard in training. After the summer, the midfielder returned ahead of the 2022/23 season in great shape and saw his game time gradually increase.
His first start of the season came against Wanda, where Emre replaced captain Mark Szczesnowicz in the centre of the park. The Turkish national put in a great shift and has not looked back since.
Since then, Emre has been the mainstay of the side putting in a number of excellent performances, scoring his first goal for the club in the 5-3 defeat away to Borek.
In total, Çolakoğlu featured 23 times during the season, scoring twice and assisting once.
Enrico Forabosco 🇮🇹
Players’ Player of the Season
It is a huge honour to be voted best player by your fellow team mates. The player who received the most votes this season could not be anyone other than Enrico Forabosco. No surprises there…!
The midfield magician wins the award for the third consecutive season. The Italian midfielder joined the club in the 2020/21 season and has had a huge impact. Enrico has been the creative heartbeat for the side and assisted 12 goals in 28 games for the club.
Forabosco also finished second top goal scorer notching 11 times during the season.
Enrico Forabosco 🇮🇹
Dragoons Player of the Season
Congratulations Enrico! For the third time in a row, the Italian has swept up all of the Player of the Season awards. Once again, the coaching staff agree with the players in nominating Forabosco as their Player of the Season.
It is hard to disagree with the decision. The midfield dynamo has once again been a key player for the side. Despite playing at a higher level, Forabosco recorded his best tally of goals and equalled his seasonal best assist tally (13 assists).
The midfield magician is the Dragoons joint top appearance maker of all time, level with Mark Szczesnowicz, appearing 61 times in total. Enrico has recorded 32 assists in total and is the second top goal-scorer of all time with 28 goals.
If the Dragoons ever produce a Hall of Fame, Enrico will surely be one of the first additions. A true club legend!
