Dragoons Player of the Month: May
The four nominees for May’s Player of the Month: Enrico Forabosco, Simon Calabrese, David Nicolas and Yuri Samyonov

Another month has passed and once again we need your votes to decide the Dragoons Player of the Month for May!

The Dragoons played four times during May, winning three games and drawing once. A high scoring month saw the Expats net 25 goals and concede only four times. The three victories saw the Expats defeat Universum 7-2, thrash Tramwaj 11-1 and finish with a 7-1 win against Albertus. The success against Albertus will live long in Dragoons folklore, as the side confirmed promotion to Klasa A.

The solitary stalemate against Rybitwy saw neither side able to score in a rare 0-0 draw.

Your nominees for player of the month are: Italian midfield magician Enrico Forabosco, the tough tackling centre back Simon Calabrese, French midfield workhorse David Nicolas and the Israeli fox in the box Yuri Samyonov.

Enrico Forabosco 🇮🇹

The Italian midfielder and perennial player of the month nominee started all four games in May. Forabosco grabbed a goal against Universum and a further strike, plus two assists against Trawmaj. If it was not for the Dragoons profligacy in front of goal, Forabosco could have easily have doubled his assists tally. Enrico is a solid, consistent presence in the midfield and remains a vital chink in the Expats armoury.

Simon Calabrese 🇮🇹

Comfortable with the ball at his feet and a warrior in the tackle, Simon started all four games in May. In a solid month, the defender won the man of the match award twice, against Rybitwy and versus Universum. The defender lead from the back and came perilously close to grabbing a third goal of the season in the Universum game. Against Rybitwy, the Italian played like a man possessed, putting his body on the line to preserve a clean sheet.

David Nicolas 🇫🇷

The veteran French midfielder started once for the Expats and made two substitute appearances. In an impressive man of the match performance, David grabbed an assist against Tramwaj. Sometimes, the player at the base of midfield does not always get the credit. However, the Tramwaj match saw Nicolas boss the centre of the park and not stop running til the very end. His two substitute appearances saw the Frenchman bring a calming influence against Rybitwy and Universum.

Yuri Samyonov 🇮🇱

A worthy nominee for the award, Yuri played three times for the Dragoons and scored two hat-tricks! Samyonov started against Universum and Albertus, whilst also making a big impact from the bench against Tramwaj. The striker has a reputation for being a “Johnny on the spot”, ending the month with seven goals. Samyonov scored four goals as a substitute against Tramwaj and a man of the match winning treble against Albertus.
