About Błażej

Everyone needs a friend like Błażej.

Blaze began his football journey with his hometown team Sokół Olsztyn before moving on to Iskra Mokrzesz in the Częstochowa region, playing at a similar level to the Dragoons and captaining the side on several occasions.

Błażej regularly travelled from Krakow to Częstochowa each week to play, but eventually, work commitments put football on hold. After a two-year break, a colleague invited him to the famous Tuesday kickabouts, and Blaze soon became a regular for the Dragoons’ Sunday League side, featuring in the club’s inaugural Puchar Polski 6-0 victory over Fairant.

He scored his first Dragoons goal in the 2nd round of the 2019/20 Puchar Polski against LKS Lotnik Kraków, firing a fierce first-time shot from the edge of the box into the top corner after 14 minutes.

A fan favourite and one of the club’s longest-serving players, Błażej may not always have been a first-team regular, but his commitment never wavered, often cheering from the stands when not selected.

In the 2023/24 season, the winger made his 50th appearance, scoring the opening goal in the final-day victory over Czarni 03 Grzegorzowice.

Blaze enjoyed a resurgence in 2024/25, becoming a key squad member, but life moved on and a move to Germany saw him end his playing days at the season’s end. Fittingly, he scored in his final game against Kmita Zabierzów II – a true heart-warming moment for all present.

Even from abroad, Błażej remains active in the club, contributing to marketing and sponsorship, proving his dedication to the Dragoons off the pitch is just as strong as it was on it.
