It’s time to get your votes in for our first Player of the Month competition of the season! Your nominees for September are Yuri Samyonov, Rohit Chandran, Sasha Arshakian and Ayoub Chardal.

Recap

September saw the Dragoons win two games in succession, draw once and suffer one defeat.

The first game of the month came away at Juvenia Prandocin. A strong performance saw the boys win 3-0, with Alessio Sassini scoring before half time and Yuri Samyonov and Andrea Latino putting the finishing touches to the score in the second period.

Zawisza Sulechów travelled to Prądniczanka the following week and lost their unbeaten streak. Despite the visitors edging the first half, the Dragoons found their rhythm to win the game 2-0. Goals from Rohit Chandran and Flavio Nkola secured a bright start to the month with 2 wins from 2.

A trip to Michałowianka Michałowice followed a week later. The hosts had won all of their games so far and found it difficult to breach a stubborn Dragoons rearguard. Just after the break the Expats took the lead through an acrobatic volley from Sasha Arshakian. A poor refereeing decision saw a penalty awarded at the death but the incoming spot-kick smashed the post. Unfortunately, the Dragoons could not hold on and deep into injury time the hosts grabbed a late equaliser.

September’s final game of the month saw Ekler Baranówka travel to the Dragoons’ lair. A poor showing from the Expats saw them go behind after just 15 seconds. The side deserved to be level at half time, with the bar and post twice denying the Dragoons and a missed penalty proving costly. Ekler grabbed a second goal midway through the second half and the Expats could not recover.

Nominees

Yuri Samyonov 🇮🇱

The Israeli has been a near ever present for the side in September, starting 3 times and coming off the bench once.

Yuri Samyonov — The Israeli goal-getter has been an integral part of the team so far this season

Yuri started the month with a bang against Juvenia Prandocin, scoring his first goal of the season with a clinical finish and earning the Man of the Match award. The following game saw the forward turn provider as he grabbed two assists against Zawisza Sulechów.

September also saw Samyonov make a landmark 50th appearance in a Dragoons shirt. He has currently made 53 appearances in total, scoring 25 goals and 8 assists!

Rohit Chandran 🇮🇳

The Indian whirlwind has made himself a key component to the team this season. Whether playing out wide or in the middle of the pitch, Rohit will always give 100% for his team.

Chandran’s will to learn and improve is impressive, with the mercurial playmaker getting better and better with each game.

Rohit Chandran — The dribble wizard has shown great versatility and gets better with each match!

Rohit played in all four of September’s matches, grabbing a goal and a Man of the Match award in the match against Zawisza Sulechów.

After 59 appearances in a Dragoons shirt, Chandran has 16 goals and 12 assists in total. Adding to his importance to the team, Rohit currently leads the way with the most minutes played so far this season (627 minutes).

Sasha Arshakian 🇺🇦

A new signing to the Dragoons, Sasha has helped solidify the backline alongside Kuba Drobny.

Sasha Arshakian — The Ukrainian has started life well in short time at the club so far

Quick, strong and not afraid of getting stuck in, Sasha grabbed his first Dragoons goal against Michałowianka Michałowice. A strong defensive performance from the side saw the Ukrainian be awarded the Man of the Match.

The tough tackling defender started 3 times and made one appearance off the bench in September.

Ayoub Chardal 🇲🇦

Ayoub joined the club towards the back end of last season but red tape saw his debut delayed.

The Moroccan has had to be patient for his chance, but had an instant impact against Juvenia Prandocin. The attacker came off the bench and played a key role in Andrea Latino’s goal.

Ayoub Chardal — Capable of a moment of brilliance, the Moroccan has been involved in some key moments this month

A second appearance off the bench came in the Zawisza Sulechów game before his first start against Ekler Baranówka. Despite the Dragoons a losing effort, Chardal stood out as the Man of the Match for his performance. The Moroccan marvel was at the heart of all the Expats’ good work and was desperately unlucky not to score when his shot cannonned off the bar.

Ayoub has made 6 appearances in total for the team so far in his short Dragoons career.
